Irish
Our Irish Paper One book is authored by the exceptionally experienced Máire Ní Cheallaigh, Irish teacher from the Institute of Education. Máire has a particular interest in debates and spent more than 20 years preparing students to participate in Gael Linn debates.
Maths
McAndrew Books is proud to be adding a maths book course to our range of products, launching early next week. Written by the exceptionally charismatic and experienced Brian Scully, the booklet will guide students through the hardest aspects of LC maths. For teachers in particular, the included videos are a masterclass in how to explain complex topics understandably and clearly.
Accounting
The theory aspects of the Accounting paper in the Leaving Cert are often poorly answered. It is important to understand that often, the difference between someone achieving an H1 and an H2 is their understanding of Accounting Theory.
This book takes the theory elements of the accounting course, which can account for up to 10% of the exam, and combines them together in one easy to follow guidebook. In essence, this book is a “one stop shop” for the theory elements of the accounting course, thereby saving students the task of locating this information throughout their textbook.

English
Coming very soon to McAndrew Books is Clodagh Havel's latest book on the comparative question, which also includes an excellent video course. Clodagh Havel is an English teacher at the Institute of Education, Dublin with over 20 years of experience teaching the subject. She has also worked with the State Exam Commission, correcting both Junior and Leaving Cert English.
Home Economics
Our Home Economics book includes an entire video course by Sandra Cleary, one of the most experienced Home Economics teachers in the country. Having taught the subject for 35 years, 33 of those in the Institute of Education, being a frequent guest of numerous radio shows and contributor to Exambrief, there is no denying her qualification to write her latest book for Home Ec teachers and students.
Chemistry
The Leaving Certificate Chemistry syllabus is a long and challenging course. It is quite normal for students to feel a little lost and overwhelmed. The goal of this book is to break down and isolate the concepts into easily learnable definitions.
Biology
We are proud to have Róisín Doyle as our exclusive LC Biology author. She has been teaching Biology at the Institute of Education, since 2013, has worked with the State Examinations Commission for several years, and has authored mock papers for Examcraft from 2017- 2021. In the 2023 Leaving Cert, 40% of Róisín’s students achieved an H1 in Biology.

Paul McAndrew has been teaching Leaving Cert Religious Education since 2006, and boasts numerous academic accolades. Paul is presently teaching Leaving Certificate Religion as well as Politics and Society in the Institute of Education.
